    Dean’s list Nichole Splieth has been named to the Dean’s List of Distinguished Students for the spring 2010 semester at the University of Albany. Lisa McManus, a member of the Union College Class of 2010, has been named to the 2009/10 dean’s list. McManus is a resident of Monroe and a 2006 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury Senior High School. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have completed three courses during each of the three terms with no fewer than seven courses in the index. She must have maintained an overall index of 3.5 or greater. Graduations Nichol Carella of Highland Mills, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Florham Campus, located in Madison, N.J., graduated in May. The following local students were among the more than 4,200 graduates who earned associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees - as well as professional certificates - completely online - as part of Kaplan University’s summer 2010 class: Anthony Gorlachov of Highland Mills was awarded an associate of applied science degree in criminal justice. Joann Nolle of Harriman was awarded an associate of applied science degree in interdisciplinary studies. Kaplan University, which has its main campus in Davenport, Iowa, and its headquarters in Chicago, is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (www.ncahlc.org) and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Kaplan University has graduated nearly 27,000 online students since it began offering web-based degrees in 2001.
