The Town of Monroe presented Jennifer DeFrancesco, the executive director of Hudson Valley Honor Flight, with a donation check from money raised at the town's Food Truck Festival held June 15 at Orange & Rockland Park.

Through the support and generosity of many individuals who participated in the day’s festivities, the town was able to raise almost $2,700 in support of Hudson Valley Honor Flight’s mission of honoring American veterans for all their sacrifices by transporting them to Washington, D.C., to visit their memorials at no cost.

A special thank you to the Pine Tree Elementary Patriot Club and Stumpthing Chained whose efforts contributed to our fund-raising success.

The Town of Monroe will host its next Food Truck Festival on Oct. 19, at Orange & Rockland Park honoring Make-A-Wish® Hudson Valley, an organization dedicated to creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Since receiving its charter in 1986, Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley has granted the wishes of more than 2,600 children in the Hudson Valley region with critical illnesses.
