On Thursday, Nov. 7, from 7 to 8 p.m., the Greenwood Lake Public Library will host author and photographer Kevin Woyce, who will give participants a tour of Hudson River lighthouses, past and present.

He will tell us how and why these structures were built and also about the men and women who kept their lights shining. Woyce will illustrate this program with his original photos of Hudson River lighthouses and other landmarks, plus vintage images of historic events, places and people taken from his book "Hudson Valley Lighthouses: An Illustrated Tour," published in July 2018.

A lifelong resident of the Garden State, Woyce lives in Lyndhurst and speaks frequently throughout New Jersey and southern New York State on a variety of historical topics. His other published works include: "Liberty: An Illustrated History of America's Favorite Statue" (September 2011), "New Jersey State Parks: History and Facts" (October 2013), "Bridges" (August 2015), "Niagara: The Falls and the River: An Illustrated History" (August 2015), " California Visions: San Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Coast" (August 2016), "Jersey Shore History & Facts" (May 2017), and :Santa's Hometown: How New York City (and a few other places) Shaped the Christmas Season"(October 2018).
