Woodbury seeks stocking stuffers for troops

HIGHLAND MILLS — The Woodbury Senior Center and the Woodbury Public Library are sponsoring a “Stocking Stuffers for Our Troops” collection now through Saturday, Dec. 9.
The drop off locations are:• Woodbury Senior Center, 16 State Route 105, Highland Mills;
• Woodbury Town Hall, 511 Route 32, Highland Mills; and
• St. Anastasia Parish Office, 21 North Main St., Harriman.
Suggested items Please select items in packaging sized to fit in a stocking (no glass, aerosols or perishables).
Clothing
Baseball hats, wool hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, bandanas, socks and shoelaces.
Personal care items
Shampoo/cream rinse, deodorant, liquid body wash, female personal care products, foot powder, Q-tips, tissues, baby wipes, Bandaids, nail clippers, disposable razors, Moleskin (Dr. Scholl’s), Vaseline, moisturizer/aloe vera, hand sanitizer, eye drops, Chapstick/Blistex, instant hand and/or foot warmers and nasal drops (non-aerosol).
Food
Granola bars, chicken/tuna/salmon/turkey in easy open cans, beef jerky, Slim Jims, Individual snack packs, pre-packaged trail mix and nuts, crackers (peanut butter/ cheese), cookies in individually wrapped packages, snack packs of pudding and fruit, seasonings: tabasco, hot sauces, etc., packets of creamer, sugar, sweetener, Individual packets of powdered drink mixes, tea bags, packets of instant coffee, hot chocolate/cider packets, Lifesavers/lollipops/hard candies/gum and throat lozenges/cough drops.
Miscellaneous
Puzzle books, playing cards, spinners, writing paper, pens, envelopes, AA, AAA, D batteries, small can openers, laundry soap (single load packs), CDs and DVDs (new or gently used), MAG light flashlights and any NASCAR, NFL or country/western themed items
Essential information
The stockings will be stuffed on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Woodbury Senior Center. Volunteers are needed. For more information, call the center at 845-928-9225 ext. 9.
