Winter garden tips at Suny Orange

    The last of SUNY Orange’s free Our Natural Heritage Lecture Series will be held on Monday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. in Orange Hall. Francis Groeters, Ph.D., the owner of Catskill Native Nursery in Kerhonkson will present, The Winter Garden: Beauty and Nourishment. As a child, nature was a hobby to Groeters. During the lecture, he will explain how important it is to support a winter garden because of how it nourishes the soil and environment, making it ready for spring planting and summer harvesting. Groeters has also been a consultant in the planting and upkeep of the educational garden at SUNY Orange. Call 341-4891 for more information.
