Warwick Valley Chorale concerts celebrate 70 years
WARWICK The Warwick Valley Chorale will present its 70th annual free spring concert, “Mozart and Americana” May 20 and 22. Performance dates are: Friday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m.at the Goshen United Methodist Church Sunday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Warwick Reformed Church Perfomances are free but donations are accepted. Under the direction of Stanley Curtis and accompaniment by Gail Johnson, the program will include Mozart’s “Solemn Vespers” and a variety of American Cultural music. This is also Curtis’ 25th anniversary with the Chorale. The soloists performing in Mozart’s “Solemn Vespers” are: Julie Ziavras - soprano; Zoila (Zoey) Savale - alto; Andrew Signorelli - tenor; and Dennis English - bass. Chorale members recently performed Mozart’s “Solemn Vespers” at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall. The South Brunswick High School Concert Choir of Monmouth Junction, N.J. and the Old Dominion University Concert Choir of Norfolk, Va. also participated in this performance.
