Warwick Gardeners prepare for plant sale

Warwick - The Warwick Valley Gardeners are busy splitting and potting up some of their most prized perennials for their annual plant sale to be held on Saturday, June 4, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Railroad Green Park, at the corner of Oakland and Railroad avenues in Warwick. There will be a huge selection of plants from members’ gardens as well as those from local commercial growers, at great prices. This year, the sale will feature a day of informative presenters and garden related vendors. These include: WTBQ radio personality James Alton Thomas will discuss “What’s the Buzz?” and the importance of bees in the garden. Garden State Koi will present a demonstration and lecture on water features at 11 a.m. Author William Alexander will sell and autograph his newly released book” 52 Loaves.” Master gardeners will be available to answer your gardening questions. Garden whimsy: Quirky planters brimming with flowers. Sale table: Gently used garden books and magazines, garden related items.
