WARWICK-There are many artists who claim to be portrait artists, but there are just a small number who, like Cynthia Harris-Pagano, have truly mastered this genre. On Sunday, Nov. 7 the Warwick Art League Visiting Artist Series will present an oil portrait demonstration by this award-winning artist. The free event will take place in the Senior Room of Warwick Town Hall, 132 Kings Highway, from 2-4 p.m. It is open to the public. Cynthia Harris-Pagano, of Otisville, N.Y., has won numerous awards for her north light portraits. Her portraits possess a convincing use of color, a full range of values, and sensitivity to form that together capture the essence of her subjects. Her portrait "Young Woman in Brown Vest" was reproduced in Pastel Highlights, 1997 and she has been a featured artist in the Hudson Valley Magazine. Harris-Pagano, who has studied with John Osborne at The Ridgewood Art Institute, Daniel Greene and Robert Beverly Hale at the Art Student's League, is a member of The Portrait Society of America, The American Association of Portrait Artists, The Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and The Hudson Valley Pastel Society.
