WARWICK-The Bookstore in downtown Warwick will host three celebrated authors on consecutive Saturday evenings in October: Frederick Franck, Elizabeth Lesser and Donna Reis. Michael McDermott, owner of The Bookstore describes Dr. Franck, author of more than 30 books and an artist whose work has been displayed throughout the world, "as one of Warwick's treasures." Dr. Franck will make his third appearance at The Bookstore on Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m. to celebrate the publication of his latest book, Ode To The Human Face. A photographic collection of icons spontaneously created through his lifetime, Ode To The Human Face, perhaps best answers Dr. Frank's lifelong quest to understand what it means to be human, said McDermott. Franck is creator of the trans-spiritual oasis in Warwick, Pacem in Terris. Author Elizabeth Lesse is co-founder of the Omega Institute, the largest personal growth and spiritual retreat center in the world. Her new book is about overcoming fear, taking risks, and using the challenges of daily life to grow and thrive. On Saturday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m, Lesser will be at The Bookstore to share passages from "her beautifully written, often funny, and always inspiring book," Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow. Whether it is a bump in the night or an almost-visible image, most people have experienced something unusual, extraordinary or unexplainable. On Saturday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m., meet author Donna Reis as she reads selections from her book, Seeking Ghosts In The Warwick Valley. The spirits explored in this book range from benevolent to tormented to poltergiests and ghosts inhabitating some of Warwick's oldest homes. This is a spine chiller for anyone who revels in a good ghost story and a hauntingly fun way to celebrate Halloween. All three author appearances begin at 7:30 p.m. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Bookstore is located at 20 Main Street in downtown Warwick and can be contacted at 986-8880.
