TUXEDO — The choir of St. Thomas Church in Manhattan will perform a concert of sacred music from the English cathedral choir repertoire - early to contemporary at St. Mary’s-in-Tuxedo Episcopal Church on Fox Road on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. Considered to be the leading ensemble in the Anglican choral tradition in the United States, the St. Thomas choir performs regularly in concert and to provide music for five choral services each week. All the boy choristers attend its choir school. Founded in 1919 by T. Tertius Noble, it is the only church-affiliated residential choir school in the U.S. and one of only two such schools in the world dedicated to educating choristers exclusively. The performance will be followed by a reception in St. Mary’s Bentley Hall. This event is jointly sponsored by The Tuxedo Performing Arts Group and St. Mary’s-in-Tuxedo. The Tuxedo Performing Arts Group is a not-for-profit organization that presents a program of four concerts a year in varying styles and differing venues within the community. Admission is by ticket only. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under and are available by mail from TPAG, P. O. Box 313, Tuxedo Park, 10987, email at info@tuxedoperformingarts.org, and in-person from Tuxedo Park Estates, Tuxedo Park Preferred Properties and Tuxedo Wines and Liquors.
