Pumpkin fest will be held this Sunday

    GOSHEN-Hill-Hold Museum's annual Pumpkin Festival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17. The festival will include demonstrations of harvesting winter foods, waxing fall leaves, and making dolls out of cornhusks. The front lawn will be the site of pumpkin rolling and hay rides, with visitors free to use 18th-century stilts and hoops. In the kitchen, Aunt Millie will be baking pumpkin cookies and stirring up a brew over the open-hearth fire. Refreshments will be available for sale. Other activities include pumpkin painting and guess-the-weight-of-the-pumpkin. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for children, and $7 for families. Hill-Hold is located on Rt. 416 between Goshen and Montgomery. Special events are co-sponsored by the Friends of Hill-Hold and Brick House and the Orange County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. For more information, call Susan A.
