WARWICK-"The Coasts", an exhibition of black and white silver gelatin prints is now on display at The Bookstore on Main Street in Warwick. "I'm pleased to be showing these black and white photos produced in the "best way" n a print at a time in the darkroom," said Michael McDermott, the owner of The Bookstore. The work is by Upper Greenwood Lake resident Sandi Katzman-Romandetta, who has her bachelor of science degree in photography from SUNY New Paltz University. Katzman-Romandetta has had various group and solo shows in the metropolitan area including Tali's Fine Art Gallery in New York City, and has received many awards for her work. "I've selected two different series for this show." "I thought the hometown quality of the Maine Coastal Villages and the stark lit beauty of the California landscape would be a welcome addition to the local autumn beauty." In this age of digital prints, Katzman-Romandetta has chosen to keep working in the darkroom, " Anyone can print out identical image after image manipulated on the computer. However, each print that I do is one of a kind and archivally superior. I enjoy the process of taking pictures as much as I enjoy hours of excitement in the darkroom trying to create just the right quality." The Coasts is running through December, including Home for the Holidays on Nov. 25-28. For more information call The Bookstore at 986-8880 or Katzman-Romandetta at (973) 853-1282.
