Nature museum will host wildflower and heirloom vegetable sale om May 19

CORNWALL — The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will host a wildflower and heirloom vegetable sale on Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., at its Outdoor Discovery Center on Muser Drive across from 174 Angola Road in Cornwall.

This year will include a focus on plants for pollinators like butterflies, bees and hummingbirds with a butterfly tent, butterfly craft for kids and guided pollinator walks at 9:3 0a.m. and 1 1a.m.

Special value plant sets are being offered by pre-order only: eight wildflower plants for $20 and complete butterfly garden with more than 30 plants for $59. At the sale there will be a large selection of native plants selected to attract butterflies, honey bees and hummingbirds. Non-genetically engineered heirloom vegetable seeds also will be available.

Marian Dolan of Butterfly Botanicals Greenhouse will share her butterfly knowledge and expertise.

Gardeners from the area will be available for questions and gardening tips.
