Monroe United Methodist Church to host a celebration of Martin Luthr King Jr. on Jan. 28

    MONROE — The United Methodist Church of Monroe presents a celebration of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Sunday, Jan. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m.
    This a benefit for the Black College Fund with music - jazz, folk rock and spiritual - as well as the Hudson Valley Poets and the Love Supreme Chorus.
    • The poets expected to perform are Janet Hamill, Donna Reis and Bill Seaton.
    • The musicians expected to play are Neil Alexander, Vicki Arbo, J. Brunka, Michael d’Agostino, E’lissa Jones, Bob Kopek, Mickey Kopchak, Jim Kunkel, Stacey Laurer, Andrea Loftus, Bill Pernice, Bob Rosen, Steve Rubin, Kevin Anthony Ryan, Mitch Schechter, Rick Savage, Joe and Gabriele Tranchina, Jody Weatherstone and Marji Zintz
    • Admission is $10. Children are free.
    • The United Methodist Church of Monroe is located at 47 Maple Ave. in the Village of Monroe.
