Monroe Free Library announces fall adult programming

Monroe Free Library's Fall Adult Programs are now open for registration.

MFL cardholders can register for these events at www.monroefreelibrary.org/events.

Residents living within the Monroe Free Library service area (Monroe and some portions of Harriman) can obtain a library card, free of charge, by applying in person or online.

Book discussion: Dracula

Monday, Oct. 21, 6:30 p.m.

Join Emily for a discussion of Bram Stoker's Gothic horror masterpiece, Dracula, which spawned some of the most iconic horror imagery of the 20th Century.

Special effects mask demonstration

Wednesday, Oct. 23, 6:30 p.m.

Mike Worden will create a creepy special effects mask live at the library. It'll be a hairraising display just in time for Halloween.

Book discussion: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

Tuesday, Oct. 29, 6:30 p.m.

Sue will host the discussion for :A Tree Grows in Brooklyn," Betty Smith's classic comingofage tale set in the early 20th Century.

Ghost stories with Linda Zimmerman

Wednesday, Oct. 30, 6:30 p.m.

Paranormal researcher and author Linda Zimmerman will share some of her most chilling ghost stories with us the day before Halloween.

Learn the art of sketching

Tuesdays, Nov. 5 and 12, 6:30 p.m.

Local artist and exhibitor Steven Strauss will teach the art of sketching in this two night series. The library will provide supplies.
