Lycian Centre to hold Festival of Trees fundraiser

    Sugar Loaf — Kings Theatre Company will hold its third annual Festival of Trees fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 19 and Saturday, Nov. 20 in the Pavilion at the Lycian Centre for the Performing Arts on Kings Highway in Sugar Loaf. One-of-a-kind Christmas trees, decorated by area businesses and organizations, will be available by silent auction and the center of attention for this event. A considerable selection of wrapped gifts, donated by many local sponsors, will also be for sale at discounted prices. The festivities will begin on Friday evening with a Preview Gala Cocktail Party from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be jazz music by the Robert Kopec Trio, wine from Orange County wineries and a variety of hors d’ouevres. Tickets are $25 per person for this event although Friends of the Theatre, festival sponsors and tree decorators are welcome to attend at no charge. The family event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Things to do include visits with Santa Claus from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m., crafts for the children, live Christmas caroling and shopping in the holiday boutique. Enter a raffle to win a brand new 40” Sharp AQUOS LCD television valued at $1,700. Also, the Lycian Centre will collect toys for Toys for Tots. The entrance fee for this event is $5.
