Kane to read poetry at Utopian Direction

Warwick poet Paul Kane is giving a poetry reading, including his translations of Hafiz’ poems, at Utopian Direction on Saturday, May 21, at 4 p.m. Kane has published five collections of poems, most recently “Work Life” and “A Slant of Light,” as well as “The Scholar’s Rock,” a selected poems in Chinese translation. His work has appeared in various journals, including Poetry, The Paris Review, The Kenyon Review, Verse, The New Criterion, The New Republic and Grand Street. In addition to volumes of poems, he has published eight other books. He is currently and English professor of English at Vassar College. This event is sponsored by the Warwick Valley Poets. A wine and cheese reception with an open mic will follow his reading.
