CAMPBELL HALL-The Junior League of Orange County will host its "Fall Fling" fundraiser from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, at the Bull's Head Inn on Sarah Wells Trail in Campbell Hall. Guests will be served wine and appetizers and may participate in a silent auction featuring seasonal items. The fundraiser is open to the public. Tickets cost $35 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Junior League's community programs and membership training, said Patti Luedke, chair of the "Fall Fling" planning committee. The Junior League of Orange County is part of an international organization of women committed to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers, promoting volunteerism, and developing the potential of women. Some recent projects include the Foster Family Association to increase networking among foster parents; the Memory Book project at the Children's Grieving Center at Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties that provided materials for children to create personal books to memorialize a lost loved one; youth programs at McQuade Children's Services; and a day of fun and pampering on Grandparents Day for participants in the Relatives as Parents Program. Currently, the Junior League is working with the Catskill-Ramapo Library System. Cornell Cooperative Extension, and area pediatric practices to encourage infant literacy and parental bonding.
