Jazz for hurricane relief

The closing song at last week's "Hudson Valley Musicians for Hurricane Sandy Relief" was performed by Joe Vincent Tranchina, Christopher Dean Sullivan, Gabriele Tranchina and Steve Rubin.
SUGAR LOAF — Steve Rubin, The Hudson Valley Jazz Festival, Neil Alexander, Nail Music and the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center Presented “Hudson Valley Musicians for Hurricane Sandy Relief” on Thursday, Nov. 15, at performing arts center in Sugar Loaf.
The well-attended concert featured jazz luminaries Joe Lovano, Mark Egan and others from the Hudson Valley, including Joe Vincent Tranchina, Bob Meyer and Judi Silvano as well as a host of other musicians and poets.
The event was planned and assembled in less then two weeks. All musicians, performance space and staff were donated and all proceeds were sent to charities to support those in need of help from Hurricane Sandy.
In all, about $2,000 was raised.
