WARWICK-The Warwick Valley Community Center announces its new Friday Night at the Movies program. Every Friday night at 8 p.m. movies will be shown on the center's state of the art Sony Movie Theater system with 19-foot screen. The summer Friday Night at the Movies series will be run by volunteer Laura Martin, who attends the Columbia School of the Arts as a film studies major. She is scheduled to graduate in Spring 2005. A graduate of Warwick Valley High School, Martin is working towards attending Graduate School with the hopes of working in Cinematography as Director of Photography and working in the movie industry someday. The underlying theme of the Summer Friday Night at the Movies series was older movies which she felt younger audiences would enjoy and probably had never seen, "Many of these movies are ancestors of popular movies being created today," said Martin. The following is the remaining Summer Movie Schedule: Friday, Aug. 6 will feature The Manchurian Candidate, on Aug. 13 Monte Python & the Holy Grail will be shown. There will be no movie on Aug. 20th. On Aug. 27th The Big Sleep will be shown. All movies will be shown at 8 p.m., There is a suggestion donation of $3 per person for the movies. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information on the movie schedule call the Warwick Valley Community Center at 986-6422.
