Follow the yellow brick road to Central Valley this weekend


CENTRAL VALLEY The Monroe-Woodbury High Schools production of The Wizard of Oz takes place this weekend. Here are the particulars:
When: Friday and Saturday, March 23-24, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 25, at 1 p.m.
Where: 155 Dunderberg Court, Central Valley
Price: $12, $10 students and seniors
Musical stars: Meredith OBrien (Dorothy Gale), Julia Morales (Auntie Em/Glinda), Erik Bjorkman (Uncle Henry/Emerald City Guard), Cody Nardone (Zeke/Cowardly Lion), Jacob Centra (Hickory/Tin Woodsman), Lilliana Kulak (Miss Almira Gultch/Wicked Witch of the West), and Trevor Nardone (Professor Chester Marvel/Wizard of Oz), with a cast of approximately 115 students, and an all student pit, as well as approximately 60 students in various backstage functions.
Director: Stacy Hintze Short synopsis: The classic tale of Dorothy Gale as her mind allows her to adventure over the rainbow. Along the way she finds the aspects of her life she failed to realize existed. In this staged version, the Monroe-Woodbury drama club will create complex staging techniques that will include classic Oz staging and modern technology, including flying effects. In this production the classic tale comes to life!
