Vernon, N.J. — Heaven Hill Farm will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23. Egg hunts are scheduled on the hour: noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Early that morning, the fields will be blanketed with treat-filled Easter eggs hidden by everyone’s favorite cottontail. Join the Easter Bunny at the farm for a day of events: visits with farm animals, hayrides across the rural landscape, entering the Easter Bonnet Contest, and, of course, searching for treats at the Easter Egg Hunt. Bring your own basket (BYOB) to fill with special candy and prize-filled eggs. Discover the “golden” eggs and take home one of many extra special surprises including a fluffy stuffed animal or a free gem mining adventure at the Gem Mining Sluice. Those sporting hand-crafted Easter bonnets will parade through the farm market clad in their finest and frilliest creations at 1:30 p.m. and bonnets will be judged on creativity and individuality by the Easter Bunny. Other farm activities include hayrides along the bunny trail, feeding the farm animals like the bunnies, chicks and ducklings, crafting customized sand art, designing personalized tattoos at the face painting booth and carnival rides. Colorful tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, Easter lilies and more spring varieties will fill the farm market. It’s pansy planting time and the greenhouses are bursting with a rainbow of blooms. Heaven Hill Farm is located at 451 State Route 94 in Vernon, N.J. For additional information and directions, call 973-764-5144 or visit www.heavenhillfarm.com.
