Dress up, step out for Purim





CHESTER Two local Chabads will party hearty for Purim, the holiday that celebrates the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient times from the wicked Persian nobleman who wanted to destroy them.
Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame, Goshen
Purim will be celebrated Hawaiian style by Chabad of Orange County, directed by Rabbi Pesach and Chana Burston.
Festivities will include an exotic food buffet, tropical smoothie bar, parrot show, limbo game, and masquerade with prizes for children and adults. Additional highlights include an interactive Megillah (Scroll of Esther) reading, door prizes, and luau crafts.
Guests are encouraged to wear costumes.
We are looking forward to a festive event," said Rabbi Burston. On Purim there is a special Mitzvah to be happy."
All are welcome, regardless of affiliation or background. The party is free, but Chabad welcomes sponsorship and donations for the event.
The Castle Fun Center, Chester Rabbi Meir Borenstein invites everyone to a "great big Purim Party for the whole community" at the Castle Fun Center.
The event will include a reading the Megillah with gragers (noisemakers) for the children.
"This is the first time in history that a Jewish holiday is taking place inside the Castle Fun Center," said Rabbi Borenstein Director of the Chabad. "There will be plenty of activities for young and for old."
A buffet will follow with desserts and Hamantashen.
