CHESTER-What are you going to be this year? The time to decide has come. The 15th annual Chester Halloween Parade will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, in Historic Downtown Chester. Registration will be at 10 Greycourt Ave. at 1:15 p.m. The parade will end at the Village Barn on Vadala Lane. If it rains, participants will gather at the Village Barn. All residents of Chester are invited to participate. There will be many prizes and free raffles for all who register just before the parade. The categories for the costume contest this year are: Prettiest or Most Handsome, Cutest Infant or Toddler, Scariest, Most Original, Best Adult, Best Duo or Group, Best Pet Entry, Judge's Choice, and Best Overall. Free refreshments will be served to all who attend. The parade will be sponsored by the Chester Kiwanis Club and the Village of Chester Police Benevolent Association. "This is a great family activity that will be held rain or shine," said organizer Phyllis Battiato. "We try to make it a little better each year." For more information, call Battiato at 469-4956.
