Chris Clark BMX stunt show comes to Monroe on June 2

MONROE Chris Clark, the professional BMX stunt cyclist who performs nationally and internationally, will appear in a free community show at the South Orange Family YMCA on Saturday, June 2.
For the past 10 years, Clark has appeared worldwide and entertained at more than 1,000 events like the Olympic Games, The Gravity Games, The Vans Warped Tour and the Times Square Parade in New York.
His show features balance and agility as Clark maneuvers his bike and body over custom built ramps and obstacles, demonstrating the skills acquired in national and international competition.
BMX bike fans are going to think this is fantastic, said Ross Miceli, the Ys branch manager. Just to watch what he does is the coolest thing.
Clark began his cycling career at age 12. After realizing that cross country cycling was not his interest, he turned to stunt mountain biking. He perfected his skills by watching legendary riders Hans Rey and Libor Karas perform. He began his professional stunt bike career at age 14, and became the National Cycling Associations youngest professional rider at age 15.
Clark has competed in more than 50 national events and was even selected as a member of the American team to compete at the World Championships in Sierra Nevada, Spain.
Show time is 11:30 a.m. and is free to both Y members and non-members. Those who want to sit should bring a chair.
Clark will sign autographs and photographs afterward.
The event will include raffle prizes and the Y will waive the enrollment fee for any individuals or families who wish to join that day.
