CHESTER-MaryAnne Marino, a Chester graduate who recently recorded her debut album, will perform at Bodles Opera House on Saturday, March 12. Marino got her start performing in junior high school talent shows and at Bodles open mic nights. She fronted several cover bands before becoming the lead singer of the November Project and developing a dedicated following in the New York area. In the years to follow she studied jazz voice at the State University of New York at Purchase and performed in theaters around the Northeast. She then teamed up with Peter Zizzo, who has produced recordings for Avril Lavigne, Celine Dion, and Vanessa Carlton, which led to her forthcoming album. This album has been described as "beautifully combin[ing] ambrosial melodies and rock edginess with her smooth and sultry vocals." Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for Marino's show at Bodles, located at 39 Main Street in Historic Downtown Chester. Tickets cost $12.50 each. For more information call 469-4595.
