Chabad of Orange County announces High Holiday services and children’s programs

CHESTER — Chabad of Orange County will host services on Rosh Hashanah - the Jewish New Year (Sept. 16-18) - as well as Yom Kippur - the Day of Atonement (Sept. 25-26) - at its center on Route 17M in Chester.
“All are welcome regardless of experience or affiliation,” Rabbi Pesach Burston, director of Chabad of Orange County, said in his press release announcing the services.
There is no charge and memberships are not required. “Your soul is your ticket,” the rabbi added.
“Whether your background in Jewish prayer and practice is extensive or limited,” Burston added, “the services at Chabad – where the warmth and authenticity of the traditional are blended with the comfort and practicality of the contemporary – will leave you feeling enriched, connected, uplifted, and energized to start the New Year on a high note!
Chabad’s services are “user-friendly,” making it accessible or both the beginner and the advanced. Song, commentary and the use of English-Hebrew prayer books enable those of all levels to become active participants in the services.
There will be interactive services for children with story time, toys, snacks and games.
“This will be a fun way to introduce the wonderful world of the Synagogue to children while giving the parents a chance to enjoy the services,” said Chana Burston, the rabbi’s wife and co-director of Chabad.
