Monroe - As part of its annual meeting on Saturday, April 9, the Town of Monroe Historical Society will host a program featuring Town of Monroe Historian James A. Nelson who will narrate Monroe history using old photographs. The general public is invited; you do not need to be a member to attend. Light refreshments will be served. The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the rear section of the Monroe Senior Center - through the double red doors. There will be a short business meeting, followed by the election of officers. The photographs on this page, courtesy of Nelson and the Monroe Historical Society, show the sporting life in Monroe - for spectators and participants - over the years.
