Botanical art exhibit opens Saturday

    at the Lycian Centre Sugar Loaf — Ann Marie Nitti will be exhibiting her botanical art, Works in Nature, at the Lycian Centre Galleries at the Lycian Centre for the Performing Arts from July 31 through Aug. 28. There will be a reception on Saturday, Aug. 7, from noon to 2 p.m. Certified in watercolor and botanical art and illustration by the New York Botanical Gardens, Nitti has also received the Award of Excellence from the North East Watercolor Society, two Art Awards from the Bertoni Gallery in Sugar Loaf and multiple awards at the Smith Clove Art Fair in Monroe. Nitti was the recipient of an artist grant from the Art Alliance of The Lower Hudson Valley for her graphite work in botanical art. An accomplished muralist as well, Nitti was featured in The Times Herald Record article, “Murals Not Off the Wall.” Nitti offers private art lessons. She specializes in helping advanced students fine tune their techniques and bring out details in their work. She is also a full-time designer for American Towman Magazine, a monthly print publication for trucking and recovery professionals. She provides them with page layout, hand-drawn illustrations and designs medals and buckles for their Hero Awards. Lycian Centre is located at 1351 Kings Highway, in Sugar Loaf.
