Beacon. Pianist Gabriela Martinz to perform March 5 at the Howland Cultural Center

The Howland Chamber Music Circle will close its winter Piano Festival with pianist Gabriela Martinz on Sunday, March 5, at 4 p.m., at the Howland Cultural Center in Beacon.

Lauded by The New York Times as “compelling, elegant and incisive,” Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Martinez is quickly establishing a reputation and earning praise as a versatile artist who combines “panache and poetry” (Dallas Morning News) with a “sense of grace and clarity” (The Star Ledger). Versatile, daring, and insightful, she is establishing a reputation both nationally and internationally for the lyricism of her playing, her compelling interpretations and her elegant stage presence.

Martinez is making her debut appearance in the Howland Chamber Music Circle series. Her program “Resonances” is a journey that invites us to explore the reverberations within us, the search and inspiration that happens beneath the surface.

She will be performing works by Missy Mazzoli, Reinaldo Hahn, Caroline Shaw, Adam Schoenberg, Viet Cuong, Sarah Kirkland Snider and Heitor Villa-Lobos.

Since 1993, the Howland Chamber Music Circle has been bringing world-renowned musicians to perform for Hudson Valley audiences in Beacon, New York. Come hear chamber music as it is meant to be heard.
