The hamlet of Sugar Loaf is a community of working craftspeople and artists nestled under Sugar Loaf Mountain. It is home to more than 50 independent business men and women, many of them living and working in historic, original barns and buildings, some dating back to the 1700s. A photographer, leatherworker, soapmaker, jewelers, watercolorist, pillow maker, sign makers, flower arrangers, potter, candlemaker, furniture maker, stained glass artist, picture framer, fabric crafter, and woodworkers, are among the artists and craftspeople living in the hamlet. Also included are two restaurants, coffee and dessert shops, gift shops, clothing stores, graphic artists, a bed and breakfast, a realtor, a reading center, a beauty salon, and an auction house.
