American String Quartet to appear at SUNY Orange

The American String Quartet will perform selections by Mozart, Beethoven and Ravel on Sunday, Feb. 13, at 3 p.m. at SUNY Orange’s Orange Hall Theatre. Internationally recognized as one of the world’s foremost quartets, the quartet is celebrating its 35th anniversary during the 2010-2011 season. Critics and colleagues hold the quartet in high esteem and many of today’s leading artists and composers seek out the group for collaborations. Present members of the quartet are Daniel Avshalomov, viola; Wolfram Koessel, cello; Peter Winograd, violin; and Laurie Carney, violin.
