On the field with Dollar Bill, 4Score and Bert Lahr

Just to get the record straight, for a fifth time: The Monroe-Woodbury main athletic field, if replaced by either grass or field turf, will be utilized by the following: Physical education classes; M-W youth and high school lacrosse; M-W youth and high school soccer- both girls and boys; M-W Little League, both softball and baseball; High school softball and baseball; M-W Pop Warner football as well as middle and high school football. In addition, the school will benefit from hosting various sectional games and other events. Unfortunately, right now it is only a football field. The poor conditions limit that. For those of you who choose to use the blogs, that’s an avenue to get your opinion out. I’m not a blogger, and from what I’ve heard, blogs are a majority of negative thoughts from negative minds. I think it’s wonderful that you can express valid point, with peaceful opposition in our society. Our country was built on many different voices, voices that were not afraid to take a stand when there was a cause to be fought for. Just imagine George Washington blogging under the code name “Dollar Bill,” or Abraham Lincoln hiding behind “4Score” Offering an opinion to the public - without revealing one’s identity - entirely voids the credibility of the author. If you value your opinion so much, just say who you are. We can’t disrespect you for that. But if you choose to hide behind the façade of a fictitious name, you may as well list your fictitious blog name as Bert Lahr. At least it’s a full name and after all he was the actor who played “The Cowardly Lion” in the Wizard of Oz. Oh yeah, speaking of acting, the high school stage is 10 years old. Not sure what its life span is; maybe it needs to be replaced.... or at least overhauled. Tony Cardone Monroe
