Nancy Calhoun has to resign

| 23 Feb 2012 | 03:39

It is the height of hypocrisy for Assemblywoman Calhoun to sponsor a bill to stop expense money for 1,300 county level and city judges who haven’t had a raise since 1999 when she is double dipping the taxpayers. She gets $57,186 pension, $79,500 salary and $18,000 for committee service. How many taxpayers get their pension and salary at the same time? None! The 96th Assembly District deserves a public servant that will represent our interests - not their personal interest. We deserve a public servant that will listen to our concerns, works with our local elected officials and fights for us in Albany. Ms. Calhoun needs to make a choice - the pension or salary, but not both. If not, she has to resign immediately. Sonia Ayala Blooming Grove
