Supporting Dorey Houle for Monroe Village Board

| 01 Mar 2018 | 04:24

On March 20th, residents of Monroe will be able to vote for and hopefully elect Smart Growth Party candidate Dorey Houle to be a Village Trustee.
Dorey’s community spirit and desire to serve are integral parts of her fiber. Her family background includes her father, a retired lieutenant in the FDNY, and her husband, who retired from the USAF after serving in Afghanistan and is currently a NYC police officer in the Bronx.
While living in Staten Island, Dorey was the Director of the American Sign Language program at the College of Staten Island CUNY. She also ran the Lego Robotic Club in cooperation with Staten Island Technical H.S. and was a Cub Scout leader.
Dorey became involved in the life of Monroe almost as soon as she and her family moved here from Staten Island. She is using her extensive knowledge and experience to run a sign language class for the Mommy and Me programs at the Monroe and Moffat libraries.
In addition, Dorey is “translating” lyrics written by a retired M-W teacher into sign language so his songs will be accessible to all children. She has been an active member of United Monroe and a volunteer with the Girl Scouts.
As her neighbor, I have had the opportunity to get to know her while “seeing her in action.” Dorey is an intelligent, energetic and well organized wife and mother of five. She is a caring and supportive neighbor who regularly extends a helping hand in times of need. I feel that Dorey Houle would be an enormous asset to our village and urge you to vote for her for trustee.
    Sincerely,
    Karen Prager
