‘Sometimes the blame is well-placed’

In response to last week’s letter by Jerald Berman.

    Mr. Berman,

Allow me to address some of your points:

    • Romney was called the worst candidate the Republican party could run. Not by Democrats, but by Newt Gingrich and other Republicans.

And I’d still like to see his tax returns for the last decade. But he’s old news, thankfully. He lost. Get over it.

    • The decade 2000-2010 was the warmest decade ever recorded, and in the last few months the U.S. has returned to historical drought conditions.

The independent intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (200 scientists from around the globe) recently released results of a two-year study. It’s here: http://www.ipcc.ch/#

Read it with an open mind. (Click on “Report,” then “Fact sheet.”)

    • You truly believe that “47%” - almost every other person you know - is on the dole?

    Really?

    Remarkable.

    • You claim your side speaks for God. No one needs to speak for God - and in the political arena, the Constitution discourages it. No one “hail(s) ... the killing of innocents.”

    That’s just a foolish statement.

    • You state the economy is continuing into “the abyss.” Obama inherited a DOW in the 6000 range, it’s now around 13,000.

    Have you read housing reports?

    Unemployment numbers?

    All better.

We are crawling out of the abyss.

You state some people still blame Bush. Sorry, but the fact is that Bush inherited a surplus, left a deficit.

    Sometimes the blame is well-placed.

It’s a comfort to embrace what we want to believe, but sometimes what we believe is wrong. Turn off FOX news, and pry open your mind.

    B. Allan
