Ken English: A conciliatory voice and a clear vision for Tuxedo

In recent years competing visions of Tuxedo’s future growth has led to polarization among the town's residents, exacerbated by the effects of the financial crisis in 2008-2009, the uncertain fate of the school district (TUFSD), and the impending Tuxedo Farms development.
In the upcoming town board elections on November 7th, I strongly urge my fellow Tuxedo residents and neighbors to consider Ken English for a seat on the board.
Ken and his wife Lynn have been residents of Tuxedo for over twelve years and harbor a strong attachment to the community. So much so, that despite losing their home to a fire several years ago, they resolved to stay and rebuild rather than relocate elsewhere. Now Ken is seeking to rebuild the trust and sense of shared purpose which will bring the residents of Tuxedo together.
If as the saying goes, "a house divided against itself cannot stand," then a community divided against itself will find it difficult to stand together in challenging times. Ken English is committed to bridging the divides, and working to guide Tuxedo's growth as laid out in the town’s master plan. It is worth remembering that over 50 years ago, the developer decided where the children in Laurel Ridge and Clinton Woods went to school. Today the children of Tuxedo attend schools in two different districts: one where the parents have no representation and the other bereft of a viable student enrollment.
Now is the time to learn from our past and become a unified community. We can and must do this if we are to move forward. Ken English is committed to doing this, and by standing together with Ken and each other, we can get this done.
