James Skoufis ‘answered call after call’

A little more than a year ago, I found myself in my basement, up to my thighs in floodwaters generated by the wrath of Hurricane Irene.
As I wrestled my flat screen TV up the stairs, I felt myself sinking into a depression – how could my wife and I recover from this devastation which had destroyed so many photos, memories, computers, tools and furniture - how could we, two “almost seniors,” possibly clean up the mess that was left and remove all the debris.
Then I got the e-mail – Woodbury Town Councilman James Skoufis offering help to any citizen who needed it.
Having a natural skepticism of politicians, I answered James’ message of help, and the next day, he showed up with five unselfish volunteers who spent five hours, emptying our basement of the flood damaged materials.
And while I stood, helpless and in a state of shock, I watched as James answered call after call from other citizens in need. He always answers the call for help wherever help is needed.
That is the kind of man, Town Councilman and future NY State 99th District Assemblyman James Skoufis is. And that is why I will be voting for James on Election Day. You should, too!
