Defining what a ‘true public servant’ can be

| 21 Sep 2012 | 02:22

Last August during Hurricane Irene, my family and I were rescued by a bulldozer from the window of our home. With an insurance coverage gap, we literally lost everything.
Then James Skoufis came into our neighborhood one night shortly thereafter to see who needed help. He went on to help us find temporary housing, brought us food every night, got us clothes and jackets and assisted organizing a fund raiser that raised more than ten thousand dollars that helped us and our neighbors get back on our feet.
James was always there for us and I can think of no person more suited to represent us. He is a true public servant in every meaning of the phrase and will make us proud to have him as our assemblyman.
