Happy New Year ... it's well underway.
As I get ready to put the next schedule for Our Father's Kitchen together I realize that we are truly in need of cooks, sous chefs, and other volunteers for the program to be effective.
Our Father's Kitchen is a ministry of Sacred Heart Parish Outreach, offering a hot nutritious meal every Wednesday night. It is located at the Chapel of the Sacred Heart, 151 Stage Road in Monroe (Millpond Parkway entrance).
If you have never volunteered or would like to return, please email me ASAP so I can accommodate you. We could really use your help.
We can use the following:
Head cook: Wednesday once a month from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Prepares a fresh nutritious meals utilizing meat, chicken, fish or pasta for 100 people. Should be creative and be able to adapt recipes to what is available.
Sous Chef: assists Head cook
Servers: Wednesday night from 4:45 to 7 p.m. Serves hot meal, coffee, dessert to those who come to chapel for dinner.
Clean up: men to sweep, mop and take out trash. 6 to 7:15 p.m.
Drivers- Deliver dinner to homebound 5 to 6 p.m.
Takeout person: Packages meals for the homebound 4:15 to 5:15 p.m.
Dishwashers: Clean kitchen 4 to 7 p.m.
Generally, most people are scheduled once a month.
Please let me know if you would like to assist and I will send the background check and safer spaces information.
A caring, willing heart and cooperative spirit are all that's needed.
Thank you.
