Town of Monroe lowers flags

Monroe - The following comes from the members of the Monroe Town Board: “In response to the tragic killings in Tuscon, Az., and the attempted murder of Congresswoman Giffords the Town Board of Monroe has ordered the lowering of the flag to half-mast. 'This mindless act is hate in its most metastasized form. All Americans are patriots and love this country and denounce this horrible act. 'America’s core values of respect, compassion and understanding of everyone that lives under its flag has endured for over 200 years.
