‘Support the only people who have cared about you'

To the editor: I am so sick and tired of the Democrats and Peter Martin bashing SaveMonroe. Mr. Dole obviously has no idea what he’s talking about and Mr. Martin figures if he just keeps ranting on and on against SaveMonroe again and again maybe someone might actually believe him. You’re both wrong. SaveMonroe has always been there fighting for the quality of life of the Town of Monroe. Mr. Martin may have forgotten who he’s supposed to work for but I haven’t. Kiryas Joel has its own village government that takes care of the needs of its own village very well. All the people in the rest of Monroe deserve a government that does the same thing for them. And what’s wrong with that? Nothing, except that it’s an election year. So now SaveMonroe is being subjected to these disgusting and mean-spirited attacks. First by the Democrats (former friends and allies of SaveMonroe) who have turned their backs on the only group of people that helped them and supported them in the past. With friends like that, who needs enemies? And as for Mr. Martin and the rest of the incumbents - it’s obvious that SaveMonroe is the only credible threat to their little tight-knit power structure and that’s why they try to discredit them at every turn. You have to ask yourself what the Democrats and Mr. Martin are so afraid of. Can it be that the SaveMonroe folks have spent all these years dedicating themselves to this town? That they’ve kept us informed and stood up for us? Can it be that the SaveMonroe folks are knowledgeable and committed people who want what’s best for Monroe? You bet it is. Support the only people who have cared about you and your families for years. Support SaveMonroe. Vote for Purdy, Parrella, and Budich. Ronald Berk Harriman
