M-W Boys Swim and Dive Team repeats as Section 9 champions

CENTRAL VALLEY — On Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 30, the Crusaders wrapped up an undefeated season and honored their seniors as they hosted the Vikings of Valley Central.
The Crusaders entered the meet with a 8-0 record, having won the Section 9 championship the last two years in a row.
Crusaders Daniel Ip, Ben Ip, Noah Sequeiros and Mathew Tycott won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:50.53.
Andrew Choi finished first for the Crusaders in the 200 freestyle in 1:53.98.
Crusader Ian Ackerman took first with a time of 2:13.83 in the 200 individual medley and Kyle Crosbie took the 50 free in 24:44.
Colin Davis won the one-meter diving with 237.80 points.
Daniel Ip then finished first in the 100 butterfly in 59.74.
Ian Ackerman took first in the 100 free in 50.70.
Valley Central broke through and took the 500 free before Daniel Ip, Ben Ip, Ian Ackerman and Liam Allen’s time of 1:36.57 captured the 200 free relay.
Valley Central then swept the 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and the 400 free relay.
The Crusaders' 97-83 victory brings their season record to 9-0. Their next competition will be in the OCIAA Section 9 championship meet on Saturday at Washingtonville High School, beginning at 10 a.m.
