POUGHKEEPSIE — The Crusaders traveled to Poughkeepsie to take on the Warriors of Our Lady of Lourdes High School on Saturday, Jan. 20.
The Crusaders knew going into the game that they would have their hands full, taking on the undefeated #11 ranked team in the state.
To make things just that much tougher on the Crusaders they were missing two starting players due to injury.
But this year's team has played a strong zone defense and has kept all of its games close.
The Warriors got off to a 20-10 first quarter lead. Toni Neely kept the Crusaders in the game, hitting two three-point shots in the quarter.
The Warriors then zoomed out to a 27-point half time lead with some fantastic passing and shooting.
The Crusaders rallied in the second half behind Toni Neely (15 points) and Jamie Waldron (16 points).
But the team was unable to stage any real threat to the Warriors.
The Warriors' 61-41 victory showed their undefeated record and high state ranking are well deserved.
The loss brings the Crusaders season record to 5-6.
The team's next game is scheduled for Jan. 25 when the Middies of Middletown come to Central Valley.
