NEWBURGH — Thirty former players faced off to raise funds for the M-W Booster Club to support the Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Hockey program on Nov. 25 at Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh
Parents and even some children of the former players watched the action on the ice and reminisced about the days when the boys played together on the high school team.
The players graduation years spanned more than 40 years from 1974, when M-W club began, through 2017.
There also was a father and son who played together on the ice: Matt Connolly played with his son, Matthew.
Several sets of brothers, including Julian and George Carney, along with Kevin and Brian Donovan, also played together in the game.
The players, who paid a fee to play, raised several hundred dollars for the booster club.
