Revenue sources

Your Dec. 10 Viewpoints was very enlightening. I had hoped to see that the Monroe Town Board had seen fit to purchase a defibrillator for the Senior Center. The seniors want it. The last time I mentioned it at the town hall, I was asked if there had been a problem. If there had been, it would have meant someone had died. Since the budget is in place, any request for new expenses should come with a revenue source. I would suggest the following sources: • Reduce the salary of all elected officials as they did with the Highway Superintendant. • Turn management of the Town Park on West Mombasha over to the Town Joint Park Commission. • Stop paying health insurance for elected officials. • And/or place the dogs remaining in the town shelter with Pets Alive.
