On Tuesday September 21st, Monroe Police Officer Doug Krauss was promoted to detective. Krauss started his career with the N.Y.P.D. in 2001 and transferred to Monroe in 2002. He replaces Det. Dave Conklin, who was promoted to sergeant earlier this month. Detectives are assigned to investigate all major crimes, unattended deaths, serious motor vehicle accidents, drug sales investigations, and minor crimes that require more time than patrol can reasonably provide. In this photo, from the left, are Monroe Police Chief Dom Giudice, Det. Doug Krauss, Mayor Jim Purcell, Trustee Frank Eppinger, Trustee Wayne Chan and Trustee Melinda Gormley.
