Post 488 hosts annual Christmas dinner

Monroe - , American Legion Post 488 in Monroe held its annual Christmas dinner for the Orange County Developmental Disabilities Service Corp. this past Sunday. Dinner arrangements were set-up and overseen by Marty Currid, Post 488 first vice commander. He enlisted Tom Jones, owner of Birchwood Catering in Monroe, who provided a turkey dinner, complete with stuffing, mashed potatoes, beans and a Jello dessert for 140 clients and staff of the Developmental Disabilities Service Corp. Debbie Finnegan and members of the Special Children’s Fund and Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 1, helped serve the dinners and donated presents for the clients from ”Santa” (Post 488 member Joe Bettica). Debbie Kasch and members of Post 488 Auxiliary decorated the hall and helped serve the dinners.
