Monroe. State police arrest a Monroe man following a domestic incident

    Early Sunday morning at 2:15 a.m. Dec. 19, State Police from the Monroe barracks responded to a residence on Monroe Avenue in the town of Monroe for a report of a domestic incident.

    Troopers found the victim outside the residence. Police said her right hand was bleeding.

    According to the state police press release detailing the incident, the preliminary investigation revealed that Irwin Traydman, 26, from the town of Monroe, had been involved in a verbal and physical altercation with the victim.

    During the altercation the victim was cut in the hand and had a cell phone destroyed while trying to make a phone call.

    Traydman was taken into custody and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree assault, all felonies. He also was charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal mischief 4th degree, misdemeanors.

    Traydman was taken to Orange County Jail for Central Arraignment Processing.
