‘Please vote for Cell Phones for Soldiers'

American Legion Post 488 in Monroe has been involved with Cell Phones for Soldiers for a number of years. Post 488 is a sponsor and a drop off location for this worthwhile charity. I have received the following message from Brittany Bergquist, who co-founded the charity with her brother Robby and am hopeful you can share her note to me with your readers: Hi: I just wanted to let you know that Cell Phones for Soldiers is a finalist for the ‘Amway Positivity Award.’ We need to receive the most votes to make it to the top 10 and potentially win $10,000 which will allow CPFS ( Cell Phone for Soldiers) to give our service members 300,000 minutes of free talk time. If you could spread the word and vote daily until Nov.14 that would be very appreciated! I hope that your readers will do as Brittany asks. Visit this Web site: www.yourpositivityproject.com/contest/voting. Click on “Brittany B,” read her story and please vote for us. It will only take a minute of your time. Cell Phone for Soldiers has provided Post 488 with more 1,500 prepaid phone cards that we have been able to mail to local troops serving in the armed services as well as many troops serving in harm’s way. They are protecting our way of life. The least we should do for them is to allow them to call their loved ones without incurring a debt while doing so. As Veterans Day nears, this would be an additional way of honoring the veterans who are constantly remembering their young colleagues - future veterans themselves - and giving those who are currently serving our country and protecting our freedom a way to stay in touch with their loved ones. Please vote for Cell Phones for Soldiers and help us win $10,000 to give 300,000 minutes of free talk time to soldiers overseas. For God and country, Bob Martell Second Vice Commandeer American Legion Post 488, Monroe
